Victoria Guite Town Hall – Angelica
Angelica Library, 6-8 PM
N.B.: This is the only town hall Ms. Guite has scheduled for Allegany County. Also, this event is not a library-sponsored program and does not constitute endorsement by the library for the event or its host organization.
Victoria Guite, State Senate Candidate of District 57, is holding a Town Hall on Thursday, September 3rd from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Angelica Free Library. The event will be live-streamed for those who cannot attend in person, and questions will also be taken from the feed. She will answer questions and take notes on constituents’ concerns. Guite is challenging 12-year incumbent, George Borello, in the upcoming midterm elections. State Senate District 57 consists of Western Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Wyoming, and Genesee Counties.
Topics for discussion include the status of the community, options for temporary relief and long-term solutions, and an open Q&A session.
Victoria Guite is an Afro-Native woman living on the Tonawanda Seneca Reservation, and is part of the Turtle Clan. Her campaign is aimed at working directly within the communities in her district and ensuring that politicians don’t get free rides.
“Red, blue, or purple, it’s time to sit down and set things right,” said Guite, “People are really hurting right now, and I’m not here to turn a blind eye to it or be offended by the truth. Let’s get everything on the table, and work out what we’re going to do next. Together.”
Fundraiser to follow at 22 West Main Street.
