Democrats Aaron Gies (Olean – NY-23) and Kevin Stocker (Tonawanda – NY-26) are preparing to square off in a primary on June 23, the winner of which will go on to face Republican Nick Langworthy (Pendleton – NY-23) for the seat in November’s general election.

Both Democratic candidates were invited to seek our endorsement by responding to a questionnaire. After reviewing the responses and discussing both candidates’ public comments as they relate to leadership and character, the AMP-PAC board unanimously voted to endorse Aaron Gies.

For months, Mr. Gies has been meeting with people in Allegany County and throughout the 23rd district to listen to voters and relate his positive message for change. He talks of “reigniting the common good,” “rebuilding a government that works for us,” affordability, and quality health care. His positive message and ideas are attracting support. He has avoided personal attacks.
